How does it relate to Facebook's messaging policy?<\/p>\n<ol data-identifyelement=\"473\">\n<li dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"476\">\n<h2 data-identifyelement=\"477\"><span data-identifyelement=\"478\">10. A: The content type is a ManyChat feature that allows you to tag Messenger content with a specific category that best describes the purpose when building flows or broadcasts. Facebook refers to these categories as \u201cMessage tags\u201d in its official documentation. If you have never heard of it, now is the time to familiarize yourself with<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"477\"><span data-identifyelement=\"479\">11. one of Facebook's recent announcements regarding platform messaging policies.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.facebook.com\/docs\/messenger-platform\/policy\/policy-overview\" data-identifyelement=\"483\">12. Long story short: As a user of the Messenger platform, you always need to specify a tag suitable for your non-promotional messages to cover users whose last interaction with the bot was more than 24 hours ago.<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"485\"><span data-identifyelement=\"486\">13. Important!!! Opening a URL button in any shape or form does not equate to interaction in Messenger. If you have a URL button that users can click, it will not reopen their 24-hour messaging window.<\/span><br data-identifyelement=\"488\" \/><strong data-identifyelement=\"489\"><span data-identifyelement=\"490\">14. So far, you only needed to do<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"488\"><span data-identifyelement=\"491\">15. this because ManyChat applied a special tag for all other messages. However, starting March 4, 2020, this magic tag will disappear, and everyone will be required to choose from<a href=\"https:\/\/support.manychat.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/36000001131-broadcasting-content\" data-identifyelement=\"494\">broadcast<\/a>16. four more specific new tags:<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.facebook.com\/docs\/messenger-platform\/send-messages\/message-tags#new_supported_tags\" data-identifyelement=\"497\">17. Please note that policy changes are not limited to new Message tags. Facebook will not consider such behavior in any Flow as a policy violation, provided that the content is non-promotional.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<td data-identifyelement=\"576\">\n<ul data-identifyelement=\"577\">\n<li dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"578\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"579\"><span data-identifyelement=\"580\">If the subscriber is outside the 24-hour messaging window, it will not be sent to the subscriber.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<ol start=\"4\" data-identifyelement=\"592\">\n<li dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"582\">\n<h2 data-identifyelement=\"583\"><span data-identifyelement=\"584\">Q: After March 4, 2020, what methods does ManyChat have to protect me from sending non-compliant messages?<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"597\"><span data-identifyelement=\"586\">A: Yes, we will block any messages without a \u201ccontent\u201d type or \u201cOther\u201d type (if the intended recipient has left the 24-hour messaging window), thus preventing you from violating the policy. Whether in a sequence in the flow, rules, or smart delays, we will not send it to anyone who does not meet this condition based on their messaging window.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"600\"><span data-identifyelement=\"588\">However, if the content type you apply to messages that should be delivered outside the 24-hour messaging window does not match its purpose (for example, applying ACCOUNT_UPDATE to a message containing promotional content), we cannot assist. You are responsible for ensuring that the message tag and message content match. Messages sent outside the 24-hour messaging window (all content types different from \u201cOther\u201d) will be monitored by Facebook, and if<strong data-identifyelement=\"597\">the content is insufficient<\/strong>, it may lead to page bans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"614\"><span data-identifyelement=\"600\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"fr-fic fr-dii\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/cdn.freshdesk.com\/data\/helpdesk\/attachments\/production\/36052793529\/original\/b3KtfcvBV58NIzSy2Ieqth6x9rpowslpDQ.jpeg?1575630003\" data-id=\"36052793529\" data-identifyelement=\"602\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\" data-identifyelement=\"619\">\n<li dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"604\">\n<h2 data-identifyelement=\"605\"><span data-identifyelement=\"606\">Q: In some cases, do I not need to consider the content type and just leave it as is?<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"624\"><span data-identifyelement=\"608\">A: Yes. If you are 100% sure that you have designed the automation in such a way that subscribers cannot receive messages outside the 24-hour messaging window, then you do not need to select a \u201ccontent type\u201d at all. For example, you do not need to specify a content type for any messages linked to buttons or quick reply buttons. These elements essentially mean that the subscriber interacts with the bot, and any interaction will immediately extend the messaging window by another 24 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\" data-identifyelement=\"627\">\n<li dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"610\">\n<h2 data-identifyelement=\"605\"><span id=\"dm\" data-identifyelement=\"606\"><span data-identifyelement=\"607\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.manychat.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/36000195552-content-types-aka-facebook-message-tags-#dm\" data-identifyelement=\"468\">Question: Facebook suggests using 4 tags outside of the 24-hour window after March 4, but the automation capabilities of my bot far exceed this.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"632\"><span data-identifyelement=\"615\">For example: \u201cI used to re-engage people by asking for their astrological sign to recommend mythical handbags based on that, rather than outside the 24-hour messaging window. What should I do now?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"635\"><span data-identifyelement=\"617\">Answer: Facebook now limits re-engagement to the 4 cases mentioned above. To maintain the same communication scenario, you should consider replacing the Messenger step with\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-identifyelement=\"619\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.manychat.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/36000184513-sending-sms-through-manychat\" data-identifyelement=\"620\">SMS<\/a><\/span><span data-identifyelement=\"623\">\u00a0\u00a0or\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-identifyelement=\"625\"><a href=\"https:\/\/support.manychat.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/36000184966-manychat-e-mail-feature\" data-identifyelement=\"626\">Email<\/a><\/span><span data-identifyelement=\"629\">\u00a0\u00a0steps. We recommend that you start collecting contact information and opt-in permissions sooner rather than later.<\/span><br data-identifyelement=\"473\" \/>In addition to tags, you can also send a message to users who explicitly choose to receive emails. The<a href=\"https:\/\/support.manychat.com\/support\/solutions\/articles\/36000215549-how-to-use-one-time-notifications-in-facebook-messenger\" data-identifyelement=\"468\">One-Time Notification (OTN)<\/a>will allow you to send messages beyond the 24-hour use case that does not fall under the definition of the four message tags. ManyChat recently introduced a new OTN Request blocking option in Messenger Steps, allowing you to request OTN from subscribers.<\/p>\n<h2 data-identifyelement=\"637\"><span data-identifyelement=\"638\">7. Question:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-identifyelement=\"633\">I can only see 3 Facebook tags in ManyChat's \u201cContent Type\u201d menu. What about the Human Agent tag?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"655\"><span data-identifyelement=\"635\">Answer: The Human Agent tag is currently unavailable (Facebook is currently running a closed beta). When available, we will automatically apply it as long as you send content from \u201cLive Chat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 data-identifyelement=\"637\"><span data-identifyelement=\"638\">8. Question: What content type should be used when creating an OTN?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" data-identifyelement=\"664\"><span data-identifyelement=\"640\">Answer: There are two separate entities: OTNR (One-Time Notification Request) and OTN (which is the notification itself). For OTNR, you need to select the content type according to the regular type of the flow that contains this block and other nodes within it. However, for the one-time notification itself, as the content type, please select the \u201cOne-Time Notification Topic\u201d created in OTNR.\u00a0<br data-identifyelement=\"643\" \/>It is worth mentioning that OTN can include not only text blocks but also images, cards, galleries, audio, video, lists, and files.
