QR Code<\/strong>It is an interesting and concise feature that can bring a large number of subscribers to your bot.<\/p>\n

To create a new QR Code growth tool, go to the \u201cGrowth Tools\u201d tab and click the \u201c+ Add Growth Tool\u201d button in the upper right corner - you will see the full list of available growth tools, and you should click the \u201cQR Code\u201d icon:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

You will see two tabs in the newly created \u201cGrowth Tool,\u201d followed by \u201cSelect Join Action\u201d and \u201cQR Code\u201d:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u2013 \u201cSelect Join Action\u201d<\/strong>is a tab where you can set the opt-in message for that growth tool - just click the \u201cEdit\u201d button to enter edit mode, carefully set your opt-in message, and then click the \u201cPublish\u201d button to save changes, ensuring that the changes are sent to users immediately after they scan the code.<\/p>\n

\u2013 \u201cQR Code\u201d<\/strong>is a tab where the code is automatically generated after clicking that tab:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As shown in the screenshot, you can adjust the image size here (100-2000px), add a logo that will appear in the center of the code, remove the background behind the logo, change the background and foreground colors of the code, and you can also download the code in .png format to your device.<\/p>\n

Make sure to click the \u201cActive Draft\u201d toggle switch in the upper right corner of the Growth Tool to activate it.<\/p>\n

QR codes are great for sticking on flyers, advertisements, or anywhere in the real world where you want people to try using the bot. They can be scanned using a QR code scanning app or the default camera app on some smartphones to immediately link users to your bot - no typing required.<\/p>\n

2. For example, a user sees this post on your FB page:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After capturing the code, the Messenger app will open, and new users will see the \u201cGet Started\u201d button, which they should click to become subscribers and receive information from your bot, starting the \u201copt-in\u201d message of this growth tool.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/em><\/strong>  Users who have previously subscribed to your bot will not see the \u201cGet Started\u201d message but will immediately receive the opt-in message.<\/em><\/p>\n

Since 2017, the QR Code Growth Tool has beenMessenger Code<\/strong> The Growth Tool for two years, since 2017 - the steps to create a Messenger Code GT are exactly the same, and the code itself looks like this:<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As of November 4, 2019, Facebook still supports Messenger codes, so if you have previously created a Messenger Code growth tool, they may work normally for a while.<\/strong><\/em>However, please remember that Facebook has planned to completely discontinue this feature (there is currently no ETA <\/em><\/strong>yet?<\/strong>), which is why we are proactively switching to QR codes.<\/strong><\/em>If any of your campaigns rely on scanning Messenger codes, we strongly recommend updating to QR Codes to ensure uninterrupted interaction with your roamers.<\/strong><\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n

To scan a Messenger code, users must perform the following actions (Facebook official instructions):<\/em><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Open the Messenger app and activate the Messenger camera.<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Hold the viewfinder. A circle will appear.<\/em><\/li>\n
  3. Center the Messenger code in the circle - Messenger will automatically scan the code.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Additionally, please note that each QR code is unique and cannot restore deleted growth tools using existing codes - therefore, be particularly careful when deleting such growth tools.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Troubleshooting Notes<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. If you are unable to successfully scan the QR code, please check the following:<\/p>\n

    a. Ensure your QR code growth tool is enabled;<\/p>\n

    b. Avoid applying filters or photo effects to the code in any photo editor;<\/p>\n

    c. Ensure the code printed on brochures or business cards is not damaged.<\/p>\n

    2. If your QR code does not send a subscribe message, please first ensure your widget is active.
    If so, click\u201cthe \u201dRefresh Permissions\"<\/strong>button (found in the ManyChat account's\u201cSettings\u201d<\/strong> => \u201cGeneral\u201d<\/strong>section). For this, you need to have an \u201cAdmin\u201d page role in both ManyChat and Facebook.
    Additionally, go to the \u201cGrowth Tools\u201d tab and check the \u201cAuthorized Websites\u201d list. Ensure ManyChat is listed there; if not, make sure to add it.<\/p>\n

    <\/span><\/p>\n

    After that, you need to check the \u201cSubscribe\u201d message itself: open the \u201cGrowth Tools\u201d and ensure the flow is published. If you see a yellow dot in the screenshot below, it indicates that changes to your \u201cSubscribe Message\u201d have not yet been published:<\/span>
    <\/span><\/p>\n

    Please ensure all changes are saved before using the \u201cGrowth Tools\u201d: click \u201cEdit Flow\u201d and then click \u201cPublish\u201d - this will save and update your \u201cSubscribe Message.\u201d After that, reactivate your growth tools.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

    1. The most common reason for not receiving your join message is that ManyChat has no conversation on Facebook. This is due to" <\/span>2. the handover agreement.\u201d<\/strong><\/span>3. Control4. : This is an agreement that transfers control of user conversations to the LiveChat application based on the recipient role of the user conversation.<\/span>5. In order for ManyChat <\/span> 6. to present all messages with 100% accuracy, you must set up your handover agreement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    7. To enable the handover agreement:<\/strong>8. Go to the Facebook page settings => Messenger Platform => App Settings => Configuration, and assign the \u201c 9. Primary Receiver<\/strong> \u201d10. \u201c role to ManyChat, and assign the \u201dSecondary Receiver\" role to other applications.
