Translation content: How to set up a business email address from your own domain #
This article will guide you through the complete process of setting up a business email address on your own domain and explain how to gradually build email sending reputation. It mainly includes four key steps:
- Verify the business email address
- Generate ManyChat's DNS records
- Update DNS records and confirm changes
- Gradually build email sending reputation
⚠️ Note: You must own the domain from which you want to send emails; free email services (such as @google.com, @yahoo.com, etc.) cannot use this feature. By default, ManyChat will send emails using its own domain, but switching to your own domain can enhance professionalism and effectively manage sending reputation.
Step 1. Verify the business email address #
- Log in to your ManyChat account and go to Settings → Email → Sender Address
- Click on + Add Address
- enter Email Address versus Sender Name (The name can be modified at any time)
- Optional Reply Address(Can be different from the main address)
- The system will send a verification email to that mailbox,Please check your inbox (including the spam folder)
Step 2. Generate ManyChat's DNS records #
- After completing email verification, click Verify domain
- The system will automatically generate three sets of DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Copy these records for backup (must complete the setup within 3 days)

Step 3. Update the DNS records of the domain provider #
- Log in to the domain registrar platform (such as GoDaddy, Google Domains, etc.)
- Add the DNS records provided by ManyChat to the domain settings
- Some providers mayRemove the domain name part(for example, change "_dmarc.yourdomain.com" to "_dmarc")
- Return to ManyChat and click Check DNS records Confirm settings
Step 4. Gradually build sending reputation #
- Initial 2-4 weeks Limit sending volume and gradually increase frequency
- Avoid triggering spam filters (even if the original reputation is good)
- Regularly monitor email delivery rates and open rates

Domain settings troubleshooting #
- DNS record format error: Check if the name field meets the vendor's required format
- Verification email not received: Wait 5 minutes and resend, or contact the vendor to confirm email filtering rules
- SPF record conflict: If there is already an SPF record, use the "include" statement to integrate the new settings
Example demonstration: When setting up on the GoDaddy platform, only enter "_dmarc" in the name field instead of the full domain name. After completing, save the record and return to ManyChat to click verify for it to take effect.
