In this article, you will learn how to use Shopify triggers and how to build automations around customer visits to the store. First, you need to connect our integration with Shopify to use triggers in Shopify.Learn more about how to do this.
To create a new workflow, click on the “Workflows” tab. Then, click the + New Workflow button. After naming the workflow, click “Create Workflow,” and you will enter the “Workflow Builder.”
The first step is to select the workflow trigger - the event in the Shopify store that will trigger this workflow.
⚙️Abandonedcart-When a customer abandons theirshopping cart, this車goes off. If the customer returns during this period (while the trigger is waiting to fire) to update her/his shopping cart, it will be rescheduled.
⚙️PlacedOrder-When a customer completes the checkout process and createsOrderin your store, it closes.
⚙️FulfilledOrder-When the order status changes to “Fulfilled,” it closes.
After completing the trigger setup, you can start building automations. All triggers are available in Facebook Messenger, SMS, and email.
When using Shopify triggers, you can use customer context, which is a variable in the automation. You can use it to check conditions or use it in your content.
The abandoned cart trigger has additional Shopify variables that you can use, such as:
- Cart URL - used to make customers return to the cart in the button
- Cart has been paid - a variable you can check in conditions. For example, if you use “smart delay” in the “Abandoned Cart Automation” and want to check if this cart has been paid.
- Abandoned Shopping Cart Vault -Make your message more appealing by showing customers the items they left behind in the cart vault. Everything in the “Cart Gallery” is automatically generated with no setup required. Just click the “+ Cart” option in the “Send Message” step.
Order and fulfillment triggers have additional Shopify variables, such as:
- Order Price
- Order Number
- Order Status URL
You can use discount codes in automation. You can add a link to automatically apply coupon codes to the Shopify cart.
All these triggers allow you to reuse abandoned carts, notify customers about order and shipping updates, collect reviews and feedback after purchase, and generate repeat purchases.
And don't forget, you need to place widgets in the store to generate subscribers from there. This requires matching the store customer IDs with their ManyChat IDs. Learn more about how to use our widgets.
