“The ”Checkbox" growth tool is a useful widget that allows you to add checkboxes to forms on your website. This enables website visitors to authorize receiving messages from bots in Messenger using their Facebook accounts.

Create a “Checkbox” growth tool #
Navigate to the “Growth Tools” tab and click “+ New Growth Tool”.

Enter the name of your growth tool and click here to create a new “Checkbox”:

Now, you need to create a join message. Click “Edit” to start working in the Builder.

The process is almost the same for creating any other ManyChat messages. But note that there are some limitations:
- The initial message of the “Select Join” message in the widget with the checkbox plugin does not support variables (e.g., “First Name”). However, variables will work normally after the user becomes your subscriber.
- According to the new Facebook rules, a user only becomes a subscriber when they reply to content by clicking a button or sending a manually typed message. Therefore, ManyChat cannot directly subscribe users to the “Join” sequence. Please add at least one button to your “Join Message” and operate the button as needed to subscribe to the sequence.
Once you have completed the select join message, you can open the “Settings” tab.

Click “Install JavaScript” and add your website here:

Then click “Next” and copy the JS code. You need to place it in the of every page on your website.

Let's go further and install another code. This time, you need to paste it anywhere you want the widget to appear on your website.

Now it's time to customize the widget!

Choose your preferences and then go to the final step:

You must install this code on the button that connects the Checkbox to the site, or else users will not receive your “Select Join” message.
That's it, now you can start operating, just activate the widget and start gaining new subscribers. Hope this helps!
Note: As of February 20, 2018, certain changes to the Facebook Checkbox plugin have taken effect. Among other requirements, Facebook states,You should not place the “Checkbox” below the button on the website, but rather above the button.HereMore context.
